Therapy with Ariel
Sometimes life looks “fine” from the outside, but internally you feel overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. You may be carrying anxiety, grief, relationship stress, or the weight of old patterns that keep showing up, no matter how hard you try to change them.
Therapy can be a space to slow down and make sense of what you’re feeling, with support. Over the years, what I’ve witnessed most clearly is that people heal when they finally feel safe enough to be seen and heard.
I work with individuals, couples, and families of all ages who are navigating anxiety and overwhelm, relationship challenges, identity exploration, grief and loss, and life transitions. My intention is to help you understand what shapes your inner world and what drives you, so you can shift patterns that no longer serve you and feel more grounded, connected, and fully yourself.
My Approach
My work integrates traditional psychotherapy approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, depth-oriented work, and person-centered therapy, along with mindfulness and somatic-informed practices. I see therapy as a collaboration, together, we’ll find the approach and pace that feels best for you.
For some clients, our work may also include optional expressive or creative elements, always guided by comfort and individual goals. Before becoming a therapist, I spent over two decades as a vocal coach and expressive arts mentor. My Master’s thesis, Rising Into Song: Voicework in Psychotherapy, explored how singing, songwriting, and voicework can support emotional integration and healing.
Across every setting I’ve worked in, one truth has remained constant: meaningful change happens in the context of safety, trust, and a compassionate relationship.
Working with Children & Teens
I’ve spent over twenty years working closely with children and teens, first as a vocal coach and expressive arts mentor, and now as a therapist. Across that time, what I’ve seen again and again is that young people thrive when they feel safe, respected, and understood, and when they’re given developmentally appropriate ways to express what they’re carrying inside.
I work with children and teens navigating anxiety, emotional regulation, school-related stress, identity exploration, neurodivergence, and life transitions. My approach is relational, attuned, and grounded in building trust. I take time to get to know each child or teen as a whole person, not just through symptoms, but through their strengths, sensitivities, and inner world.
Many young people don’t yet have words for what they’re feeling, or may feel overwhelmed by traditional talk therapy alone. When appropriate, I incorporate mindfulness-based and expressive approaches that allow feelings to be explored in ways that feel more natural and accessible. This might include music, drawing, songwriting, singing, or creative tools like GarageBand, used as a bridge for connection, confidence-building, and emotional expression. These approaches are never forced and are always guided by the child or teen’s comfort level and readiness.
Parents are supported throughout the process, with care given to collaboration, transparency, and helping families better understand and support their child’s needs.
What to Expect
Starting therapy can feel like a big step. If you’re wondering what the first session is like, I treat it as a conversation, a chance for us to get to know each other, explore what’s bringing you in, and begin to clarify what you’re hoping for. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out. We’ll go at a pace that feels supportive to you.
Free 15-Min Consultation
I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation for new clients. This is a simple way to connect, ask questions, and get a sense of whether we’re a good fit. We’ll briefly talk about what you’re looking for support with, my approach, and logistics like scheduling.
If you feel ready, you’re welcome to reach out, whether you’re seeking support for yourself, your child/teen, or your relationship. Reaching out is vulnerable, and it takes courage. I’ll do my best to respond within 1 to 2 business days.
Important: Please note that my practice is not able to provide emergency services. If you are in crisis or need immediate support, call 911, go to your nearest emergency room, or call/text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
